Taking care of your skin is so important. Having clearer, brighter skin makes you look more youthful, and it can make you feel more confident. I'm not a dermatologist, but over the years I've found out what works for my skin. When I was in high school, I struggled a little bit with acne on my back, chest area, and face. I naturally have oily skin, and when I don't use the right products my skin hates me. I still have my good and bad days, but I think I've finally figured out what works best for my skin.

I've been fortunate enough to have incredible products sent for me to try out. Some of them work, and others don't work well for my skin. Below are my top five favorite skincare products I've recently received and bought. All of the products are safe to use for all skin types also! The only makeup I'm wearing in these images is mascara, and a little bit of eyebrow tint (yes, I'm not wearing any foundation). Also, non of these products are sponsored, I just want to share with you my current favorite products because they're too good to not share!

A quick update on my thyroid- as you can see in these images, it's very swollen. I found out I'm getting a thyroidectomy, just not sure yet on when. I also have to get a biopsy done before to help with more info with the surgery. Hopefully the surgery will be sooner than later. I'm just ready to start feeling better soon. I will continue to keep you all updated with my journey!

I was recently introduced to Dr. Roebucks's skincare line, and let me tell you, it's amazing. They're a clean skincare line is moisturizing, and their branding is beautiful! I'm a sucker for good branding, and I love how clean their products look and feel.

My two favorite products by them are the True Blue Ultimate Hydrating Serum, and the No Worry Hydrating Face Moisturizer. I use these two products daily- either both in the morning, or both in the evening after removing my makeup. I can tell that my skin has become brighter and clearer with these two products. I've been using these two products almost every day for the past three months, and I can definitely tell a difference in my skin. I've spent quite a bit of time in the sun this summer, and I would use the serum with an SPF moisturizer over it, and it kept my skin looking bright and youthful. Make sure to check out their website with all their products here!

I'm not going to lie, this is probably my favorite face oil I've ever used. Recently, I've been hearing more and more about CBD and all of the health benefits it has. I also heard about how it's incredible for your skin and it works wonders in health and beauty products. So naturally, I had to get my hands on some to try. I have a CBD muscle balm for aches and pains, and since I knew that worked, I was so excited to try this Leef Organics Wild Crafted CBD Skin Oil. Now, I've only been using it every day for the past two weeks, but oh my gosh. It has completely helped my skin. Because of all the inflammation I have from my thyroid being enlarged, I needed something to help with that and to help brighten up my skin. Since using this product, I've been putting it under my eyes for puffiness, and I've been using it all over and it has helped with the inflammation! I can't go a day without using this facial oil. This product enhances your glow, helps boost collagen, improves elasticity, and evens your skin tone. Check out all of Leef Organics products here!

If you're on social media a lot, and follow a lot of beauty bloggers, I'm sure you've seen this new product on the market, Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. It's definitely worth the hype! As soon as it came out, I had to try it first thing. I ordered it from Sephora, and as soon as it arrived I tried it on my skin. This mask is hydrating, and helps sooth stressed out skin. It's a mix of nourishing vitamins, ceramides, and antioxidants. You can wear it as a 10 minute mask, or you can wear it overnight for extra hydration. It brightens your skin, and gives a pretty glow! A little goes a long way. I put it under my eyes for dark circles and puffiness, and it completely helps. Check it out below!

Now, this isn't a beauty product you lather on your face. No, this is an oral supplement that helps with collagen and hair- Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. I recently had heard of this product while browsing online. You can get it on Amazon, Sephora, and even get a larger size at Costco! I started taking a serving every morning in my coffee and/or tea. It's unflavored, and you seriously can't taste it at all. I've been using it since last May, and I can tell a HUGE difference in my skin and hair. My skin has become so much brighter! I'm not focusing on hair care here, but since my hormones are all over the place with my thyroid, my hair was falling out a ton. Since taking this, it's helped keep my hair stronger also.

There's 20 grams of protein per serving, giving you a good daily boost. It also improves nails, joints, ligaments, and tendons. You can also put it in smoothies, baked goods, or in any hot or cold liquid. In the morning, I'll usually put a serving in my tea, go running, and then come back and eat my breakfast. It helps give me energy for my runs, and it's easy to take!

A few months ago, Boscia reached out and wanted to send me a little package with some of their products. I had seen their products before, and had always wanted to try them but never got the chance. Well, I'm glad they sent me a gift because it has changed my skin dramatically. With the package, I received one of the best face masks I've ever used, the MATCHA Magic Super-Antioxidant Mask. I started using face masks weekly about a year ago, but never had something that completely cleans my skin as well as this Matcha mask. It helps with redness and inflammation. The matcha green tea helps revive stressed skin, absorbs excess oil, and helps minimize redness while helping fight free radical damage. I use this mask about 1-2 times a week, and my skin feels amazing after! I usually use it before I go to bed, and then hydrate my skin afterwards. Let's just say it's worth the price. A little goes a long way also so you'll be able to use it for a long time.

If you have any problems with your skin, I'm not saying that all of these products, or any will dramatically change your skin. Everyone's skin is different. I just want to share my favorite ones that have changed mine for the better!

Here are some more tips I have learned from experience that also help your your skin become cleared, brighter, and more youthful:

  • Wear SPF on your face everyday and/or ALWAYS in the sun! One of my favorite face SPF is by Coola.
  • Drink plenty of water every day! Water helps hydrate your skin, and helps get rid of toxins in your body. You will also feel so much better when you do drink your daily amount of water! Who likes to be dehydrated? Tip: have a water bottle with you always with a straw. I've come to realize that a water bottle with some sort of straw helps me drink more water (do not use disposable plastic straws!!!)
  • Sweat it out! I have found out that when I sweat, my skin looks so much better. Working out, or sitting in a sauna can help clear up your skin because you're getting rid of toxins in your body.
  • Stay away from lots of sugar and alcohol. When I have a lot of artificial sugar and alcohol, I start to break out and acne will show up on my chest and face.
  • If you're sensitive to dairy, stay away from it. I know I'm sensitive to dairy, and when I do have any my face will start to break out.
  • Exfoliate! Helps get rid of dirt and can minimize your pores. I use Biore Charcoal Acne Scrub almost every day in the shower.
  • Don't exfoliate or wash your face too much because then it can actually become more irritated and can dry out easier. Try to find your perfect balance!
