Recently, I’ve been really inspired by neon lights and shooting in darker spaces. One of my goals for the new year was to try something new, and this shoot was a good start…
Back in December, my girl Quigley came up to Washington and drove out for a day of exploring! It was a super cold day, but the sunshine was out and it was a beautiful day. We first drove to Lake Wenatchee and spent the day shooting along highway 2. It was one of those perfect, winter, sunny PNW days where the air was extremely cold and crisp, but the mountain tops were glowing from the sunshine hitting the snow. On the way back we saw this building lit up in the distance that got our attention. Surrounded by evergreen trees and PNW beauty, stood the most perfect diner called 59er Diner. I’ve been to Lake Wenatchee multiple times and I never noticed there was a restaurant on the side of the highway… We found out that the original diner had burnt down and they rebuilt it. They did such an amazing job on the interior and exterior. We felt like we were in the show Riverdale! Of course we had to stop and take some photos outside of the building and grabbed some diner food. The food was actually pretty good also! Better than most diner foods.
If you ever get the change to go to Lake Wenatchee, or drive to eastern Washington on highway 2…. I highly recommend checking out this spot. It’s great for a photo op and getting a quick bite to eat!
This shoot was not one we had originally planned, but so glad we stopped and made the time to take these photos. It was an evening to remember.
